Coole platen hoezen

DC20

Afglopen maandag was DC20 voor het eerste te beluisteren op Radio 3. Ter ere van dit heuglijk feit nog maar een post over deze klasse act. De mannen hebben ook een cd uit. Gustaf Tenggren

Another fine illustrator of te past is Gustaf Tenggren, a Swedish-American. He is known for his fairy-tale style and use of figures with caricatured faces. Tenggren was a chief illustrator for The Walt Disney Company in the late 1930s, in what has been called the Golden Age of American animation, when full length animated films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Bambi and Pinocchio were produced. After he left the studio he never painted that way again. From 1942 to 1962, Tenggren worked for Little Golden Books with illustrations for children's books such as Tawny Scrawny Lion; Little Black Sambo and The Poky Little Puppy, which became the single all-time best-selling hardcover children's book. He is a true  inspiration for the designs for het Ei geboortekaartjes

Ingela P Arrhenius

Ingela P. Arrhenius Sweden- based illustrator. Inspired by the design of the 50's and 60's she creates very nice designs for kids and a adults. Check out her website. She inspired me in a few designs I made for het Ei geboortekaartjes

Magasin General

In 2006 Regis Loisel teamed up with Jean-Louis Tripp to create 'Magasin General', a poetic series set in a small town in 1940s Quebec. For this series, that is published by Casterman, the artists developed a joint style, with Loisel doing the pencil work, Tripp the finished art and François Lapierre the colors. The result is a classic series which reads like a flow.

released in 2006. I only discocered the band a few months ago. Zalmo Zalar is a song I do play a lot.

DC20

DC20 is a duo from Amsterdam who make catchy electro-techno They shall release their debut ‘Mokum Bloody Beats’ on Plattegrond at the 22nd of April. DC20 will perform live at Club Lederhosen the 16th. of April and celebrat. The top 2 graphics have been created by Tinushoff het Ei geboortekaartjes

De Keepvogel

Very funny animation about a keepvogel (capebird?) and his dog. You are listening to his ongoing thoughts. and chats with himself. Thier weird adventures will make you and your children laugh. The nice jazzy music and crafty animation from Wouter van Reek makes this a must see...

Jiri Trnka

Trnka established an animation unit at the Prague film studio. Trnka soon became internationally recognized as the world's greatest puppet animator in the traditional Czech method, and he won several awards. One animator called him "the Walt Disney of the East. I love Trinka for his beatifull illustrations and puppets.

Bant

Bant is a monthly magazine that specializes in music, cinema, art and cultural miscellany, based in the Turkish capital of Istanbul. I discovered the magazine when I was on holidays in Turkey. I could not read a word but I was intriged by the artwork and the music albums they reviewed. When I got home I started to follow their website. Bant has been a platform for sharing and discovering local and international talents. Bant also steps out of the framework of being just a magazine by organizing music events, exhibitions, workshops and screenings in Turkey and abroad.
